Help Fund Our First Six Months
We’re Raising $42,000 to Bring SPARE to Life
SPARE is a nonprofit creative reuse center that keeps donated art, craft, and sewing supplies in use and out of the landfill—making them affordable for teachers, students, artists, and makers.
We’re already operating as a nonprofit with our (501(c)(3) status pending with the IRS, collecting donations and filling a storage unit with materials ready for their next life. The next step: opening a storefront where these supplies can be organized, shared, and put to use.
To do that, we need to raise $42,000 to fund our first six months of operation.
That includes:
Rent and utilities for a storefront (still to be located)
Insurance and operations to run safely and legally
Marketing and outreach to build awareness
Systems and supplies to organize and distribute materials
These funds will help us secure a space, set up the store, cover overhead, and support the day-to-day work required to run SPARE responsibly and sustainably. Following this timeframe, we expect ongoing operations to be covered by shop income.
Your donation doesn’t just help us keep the lights on—it helps us turn them on for the first time.
All donations are processed securely via Donorbox and Stripe, and you’ll receive a confirmation for your records. If our 501(c)(3) status is approved as expected, your gift will be retroactively tax-deductible.
It’s not open yet—but with your help, it will be!
